Students in 2nd Grade were introduced to Frames, an animation program acquired through a grant provided by the Hanover Foundation for Educational Enrichment in 2011. Their assignment was to create an animation to demonstrate the life cycle of a butterfly, incorporating student generated digital illustrations along with imported graphics. They learned how to create simple vector shapes, then alter, group, duplicate, and move those shapes to create a custom animation. Many students also successfully added text and music.
This was their first time in the program, and we had just a couple of weeks to complete the project, but students worked diligently, surpassing my expectations by bringing their work to a level of completion that just has to be shared.
We hope you can take a moment to view your child’s project and congratulate him/her on a job well done. Please note, that due to the varying levels of ability, attendance, and the craziness of the last weeks of school there may be some projects not fully completed and some not posted. Students were given the choice to publish their work or not, depending on their satisfaction with what they were able to accomplish.
Enjoy!!
