We will begin our coding adventures with Awbie, a playful character who loves delicious strawberries. Using iPads and Osmo you will use special blocks to create coding commands to guide Awbie on a tree-shaking, strawberry-munching adventure! Once you have mastered Osmo coding try your skills at code.org using your class login button below.

There are so many wonderful resources out there to provide opportunities for students to continue developing their computer coding skills. To help guide them through the learning process and introduce new skills as they gain proficiency, each student was assigned to a leveled course in the Code Studio. They can access their login screen and track their progress using the class links below. "Secret Words" and "Secret Pictures" were passed out during I.T. class. If they can't remember their words or pictures or can't find their login card, you can contact Mrs. Monahan.

GRADE 3 & GRADE 4
SCRATCH - Click the image of the Scratch Cat Sprite to go to the website. Enter your username and follow the prompts on the screen to enter some information about yourself. It's okay to give your year of birth and gender. The site does not know anything about who you really are, as your account is created within mine, and the information helps the creators of Scratch to see who is using the program.

This self guided adventure teaches several key programming concepts. Each block based activity builds on the previous, introducing kids to Functions, Boolean Values, Loops, If/Else Statements, and Arrays, using colorful animated graphics, audio instructions. Star Wars
Learn to program droids and create your own Star Wars game in a galaxy far, far away. Moana
Help Moana and Maui sail through an unknown territory while learning basic coding commands to help steer the boat. Minecraft
Use blocks of code to take Steve or Alex on an adventure through a Minecraft world. Frozen
Work within Code.org to use Blockly to write lines of code that will program Anna and Elsa create beautiful snowflakes. Recommended for Grades 2-4 |
Play Lab
Create a story or make a game with Play Lab using code that programs characters to interact through actions and speech. |
Flappy Code
Use code to write your own Flabby Bird game program. Recommended for Grades 2-4 Tynker - Solar System
Program an interactive model of our Solar System. This project comes with step-by-step instructions that guide you through creating a simulation with planets orbiting the Sun. Then add facts about each planet that pop up when clicked. |
